Which Boxabl Models This Applies To

The serial plate is inside the utility closet; look for a four-digit prefix: units starting with “CB1” use the original membrane width of 4 inches, while “CB2” and later use a 6-inch membrane with an improved adhesive backing. We carry both.
The OEM membrane from Boxabl is a 60-mil EPDM with a fleece backing, manufactured by Firestone Building Products. We also stock a Carlisle aftermarket equivalent at 45 mil, which carries the same 20-year pro-rated warranty and performs identically in South Florida’s UV exposure. The catch: CB1 units need the 4-inch OEM width or the seam will gap at the fold point. For CB2 units, either works. We check your serial before we quote so you know exactly what you’re getting.
Signs Your Boxabl Roofing Is Failing
- Water stains on the ceiling panel near the center ridge. This is the first place the EPDM membrane separates at the factory seam. In Boca Raton’s afternoon thunderstorms, wind-driven rain pushes through a gap as small as 1/8 inch. The OSB beneath softens before you see the stain.
