CWS Kitchen Remodeling: The Boca Raton Owner’s Guide

CWS kitchen remodeling in Boca Raton typically runs $14,000-$45,000 installed, depending on cabinet grade, layout changes, and whether we’re moving plumbing or electrical. We stock CWS-compatible cabinet hardware, drawer systems, and door fronts on our trucks, and most replacement parts can be sourced within 24-48 hours through our network. Most Boca Raton homeowners discover their CWS kitchen components are failing when drawer slides stick, cabinet doors sag, or soft-close hinges lose their dampening after 8-12 years of Florida’s salt-air and humidity cycling.

Which CWS Models This Applies To

CWS, or Cabinetry by Winchester Series, produces several product lines that were installed across Boca Raton developments from roughly 2008 through 2019. The most common we encounter are the Winchester Estate, Winchester Classic, and Winchester Builder Series - identifiable by the foil stamp inside the upper right corner of the door or drawer front, or on a label affixed to the interior side panel of base cabinets. The Estate line uses 3/4-inch solid wood frames with plywood boxes; Classic shifts to MDF center panels with hardwood frames; Builder Series is all-thermofoil over MDF, which is where we see the most heat-and-humidity delamination in Boca Raton’s coastal climate.

Matching the right part means measuring the overlay (how much the door covers the frame), the hinge boring pattern (typically 35mm cup with 3mm or 5mm offset for CWS), and the slide length for drawers. We carry Blum and Salice hinge equivalents that fit CWS boring patterns exactly, plus Knape & Vogt and Accuride slides in the 18-inch through 24-inch lengths CWS spec’d. OEM CWS parts are no longer manufactured for lines discontinued before 2019, so we source quality aftermarket equivalents rated for the same cycle life - 50,000 open-close cycles for hinges, 75,000 for full-extension slides. Rowan Construction Group Boca Raton is an independent service provider with no affiliation to CWS.

Signs Your CWS Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

Signs Your CWS Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
  • Doors that won’t stay closed or hang crooked. The Blum-style clip-top hinge has lost its spring tension or the mounting plate screws have stripped the MDF pilot holes. In Boca Raton’s humidity, MDF swells slightly seasonally, which accelerates screw loosening in older CWS Classic and Builder boxes.
  • Drawers that stick, bind, or require lifting to close. The roller or ball-bearing slides have corroded or the cabinet box has settled out of square. We see this most in CWS kitchens near the Intracoastal, where salt air penetrates even conditioned spaces.
  • Soft-close feature no longer working. The hydraulic damper cartridge inside the hinge or slide has leaked its silicone fluid after 8-12 years. This is wear-item failure, not defect - and it’s the most common single part we replace.
  • Thermofoil peeling or bubbling at seams. Heat from self-cleaning ovens or dishwasher steam vents degrades the adhesive on CWS Builder Series doors. Once delamination starts, it spreads; the door face needs replacement, not repair.
  • Sink base cabinet floor swelling or discoloration. Repeated minor leaks from the P-trap or supply lines have compromised the particleboard or plywood bottom. CWS used 1/2-inch plywood in Estate, 3/4-inch particleboard in Builder - the latter fails faster when wet.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what CWS kitchen component replacement costs in Boca Raton, based on what we’ve quoted across Mizner Park, Boca Del Mar, and east of Federal Highway:

Component Parts + Labor Range
Hinge replacement (per door, soft-close equivalent) $45-$85
Drawer slide replacement (pair, full-extension soft-close) $120-$220
Cabinet door replacement (per door, CWS-matched) $180-$350
Sink base floor replacement $280-$550
Full kitchen remodel (CWS removal, new install) $14,000-$45,000

The range depends on three factors: whether we’re matching existing finishes or upgrading, how many cabinets need intervention, and whether the underlying box structure is sound. We deliver a written price before any work starts - Clause 1 of The Haven Standard - and that price includes parts, labor, haul-away, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise. No change proceeds without a signed change order, which is why our projects finish within a few percent of the number we agreed on.

There’s a clear line here. A homeowner with a screwdriver and patience can swap a CWS hinge or adjust a drawer front - the 35mm cup pops out with a clip release, and mounting plates have slotted holes for micro-adjustment. But drawer slide replacement requires removing the drawer, supporting the box while you detach and realign both slides to 1/32-inch parallel, then testing load distribution. Get that wrong and the drawer binds or the slide rails bend.

More importantly: if you’re seeing thermofoil delamination, sink base swelling, or multiple simultaneous failures, you’re looking at systemic moisture or age degradation, not a parts problem. We’ve opened CWS kitchens in Boca Raton where the visible failure was a sticky drawer, but the root cause was a slow dishwasher leak that had rotted three adjacent cabinets. That’s not a Saturday project. Call (754) 254-8065 and we’ll diagnose it properly, document what we find with photos, and give you a written price for the actual fix.
