AfterPGT Fence Installation: The Boca Raton Owner’s Guide
PGT fence installation in Boca Raton typically runs $3,500-$9,000 for a complete vinyl system, with most residential jobs falling between 150 and 200 linear feet. We stock PGT-compatible posts, rails, and pickets for same-day starts on standard heights, and we carry the full color range that holds up against South Florida’s UV load and salt air. Most homeowners realize something’s wrong when gates start sagging or posts lean after a storm, or when the original installer used standard-grade hardware that rusted through in three years instead of the marine-grade fasteners PGT specifies.
Which PGT Models This Applies To
PGT’s fence line breaks into two series that matter for parts matching: the Premier vinyl privacy system and the Signature semi-privacy with aluminum reinforced bottom rail. The Premier uses 5-inch square posts with routed holes at 6-foot centers; the Signature uses 4-inch posts with bracket-mounted rails. Check the inside face of your end post for a stamped date code and series mark, or measure the wall thickness: Premier is 0.135 inch, Signature is 0.110 inch. Mixing series parts is the most common compatibility gotcha we see in Boca Raton, especially when homeowners buy rails online that fit the post outer dimension but not the routing pattern.
We source OEM PGT components direct from the manufacturer for color-critical repairs, and we stock quality aftermarket equivalents from Westech and Bufftech for structural parts where the color match is close enough. For the Sandstone and Almond tones PGT phased out in 2019, aftermarket is often the only option, and we’ll show you the sample against your existing fence before ordering.
Signs Your PGT Fence Installation Is Failing
- Gate sag or latch misalignment. The aluminum bottom rail insert has bent or the hinge post has settled in sandy Boca Raton soil. We see this most in communities west of Military Trail where the fill is looser.
- Rails pulling from posts. The routing has cracked or the locking tab on the rail end has fatigued. PGT’s vinyl gets brittle after 8-10 years of direct sun; the part looks intact until you touch it.
- Post lean after storms. The concrete footing has washed out or the post never reached 30 inches below grade to clear the frost line we don’t have, but the water table we do. In eastern Boca Raton near the Intracoastal, high water tables let posts shift in wet seasons.
- Discoloration or chalking. The titanium dioxide UV barrier has depleted. This is cosmetic until the vinyl beneath starts micro-cracking, which happens around year 12 in South Florida exposure.
- Hardware corrosion. Hinges, latches, or screws show orange rust. PGT specifies 316 stainless or polymer-coated fasteners; if your original installer used zinc-plated, they’ll fail in 2-3 years of salt air.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For a standard PGT vinyl fence installation in Boca Raton, expect $3,500-$9,000 depending on linear footage, gate count, and whether we’re pouring new footings or reusing sound ones. A single gate rebuild with new posts and hardware runs $800-$1,400. Section rail replacement is $200-$400 per 8-foot section including labor and disposal.
Every quote is a flat written price with line-item breakdown: materials by part number, labor by phase, and permit fees if your HOA or the city requires documentation. Under Clause 1 of The Haven Standard, that price is fixed before anyone digs. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the installation; PGT’s limited lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects on the vinyl itself. We register that warranty for you and include the documentation in your project file.
DIY or Call Us?
There’s safe checking and there’s risky fixing. You can verify post depth with a tape measure, confirm rail routing style by eye, and photograph hardware corrosion for our parts desk. What we don’t recommend: digging around existing posts near buried utilities, mixing concrete in our summer humidity without proper cure time, or forcing rails into brittle routing that’ll crack under pressure. Gate alignment is fussy work; a quarter-inch error compounds to a latch that won’t catch in six months.
We carry PGT-compatible posts, rails, and hardware on our trucks for Boca Raton calls. If you’re matching an existing fence, text us a photo and we’ll bring samples to confirm color before we start. Call (754) 254-8065 to schedule your free estimate.
FAQs
Expect 15-20 years for the vinyl structure, 5-8 years for standard hardware, and 10-15 years for marine-grade hardware. The UV index in Palm Beach County is higher than the national average, so the south-facing sections will chalk and fade first. Call (754) 254-8065 for an exact quote on replacement sections - estimates are free.
Individual rails and posts can be swapped if the routing pattern matches and the color hasn’t shifted too far. We stock the current PGT color line and can source discontinued tones through our aftermarket suppliers. If more than 30% of the fence shows brittle cracking, full replacement is usually the better value. Call (754) 254-8065 and we’ll assess on site.
A typical 150-linear-foot residential job with one gate takes two to three days: day one for layout and footing excavation, day two for post setting and cure, day three for rail and picket hang with final hardware adjustment. We don’t rush the concrete cure; it’s written into the schedule. Call (754) 254-8065 to check current lead times.
We stock Premier and Signature posts in White and Tan, plus marine-grade hinges, latches, and post caps. Sandstone, Almond, and custom heights we order with 3-5 day lead time. For emergency repairs after storm damage, we’ll retrofit with in-stock parts to secure the perimeter, then swap to exact-match when it arrives. Call (754) 254-8065 to confirm what’s on the truck today.

Grant Rowan likes to say, “Measure twice, document everything, then build.” That framing square his father handed him at age nine taught him what a true 90-degree corner looks like, and two decades in the field since Los Angeles Trade-Technical College taught him that buildings in coastal climates behave differently than the textbooks assume. His crew’s documentation-first scheduling - every phase signed off before the next begins - is how projects stay within a few percent of the written price.
