You can safely check three things: photograph any visible Schluter part number, confirm whether water pools only after rain or consistently, and measure the height differential with a 4-foot level. Do not attempt to cut or remove Schluter edge profiles yourself. The profiles are anchored under pavers that weigh 8-12 pounds each, and the anchoring leg is embedded in mortar that requires controlled removal to avoid chipping adjacent stone. More critically, any breach in the KERDI membrane that is not properly welded with Schluter-KERDI-FIX or equivalent will channel water directly into the substrate, converting a $600 patch into a $3,500 full replacement within one wet season.
