Meet the Boca Raton Team Behind Rowan Construction Group Boca Raton

The crew that shows up at your door in Boca Raton isn’t a rotating list of subcontractors. These are the same people who handled the tile membrane on a Mizner Country Club bathroom last March, who stripped three layers of shingles off a Spanish River Land roof in July, who framed the ADU off Palmetto Park Road that the city inspector called “the cleanest rough-in I’ve seen this year.” What unites them is simple: every one of them works under the same written price, the same photo documentation, and the same 365-Day Done Right Promise that Rowan has honored since 2007.

Our People

Grant Rowan, Owner

I’ve been running jobs in Palm Beach County since 2007, and I still walk every project before we quote it. Not a sales rep, not a drone - me, with a tape measure and a flashlight, looking at the actual substrate we’re going to work with. I learned this the hard way in 2011, when we took a kitchen remodel in Royal Palm Yacht Club based on the homeowner’s measurements and found a load-bearing wall that wasn’t on the plans. Cost us three weeks and my profit on the job. Now Clause 1 of the Haven Standard exists because of that wall: we see it before we price it, and the price is written before anyone starts. I live in Boca Raton with my wife and two dogs who have no respect for construction schedules. You’ll see me on-site when something’s irregular, and you’ll get my cell if it’s not done right.

Marcus T., Lead Technician - Roofing & Exterior Systems

Marcus has been with us eight years, and he can tell you the shingle layer count on a Boca Raton roof from the attic hatch. GAF Master Elite certified, Owens Corning Preferred Contractor - he holds both, which matters here because our coastal wind codes changed after Hurricane Irma, and Marcus was the one who retrained the entire crew on the new nail-pattern requirements. He grew up in Boynton Beach, still fishes the Lake Worth Lagoon on Sundays, and has a running bet with the Delray Beach crew about whose permits pass inspection faster. (He’s winning.) Homeowners remember Marcus because he explains what he found, not what he thinks about it: “You’ve got two layers of three-tab here, the decking’s 3/8-inch under the east slope, and that’s why you’re seeing the wave pattern.” Then he shows them the photos, already uploaded.

Elena V., Senior Installer - Kitchen & Bath

Elena joined us in 2019 after twelve years running her own trim carpentry business in Coral Springs. She specializes in the unforgiving details: integrated appliance panels that actually line up, waterfall edges on Cambria countertops where the seam disappears, shower niches tiled with the same batch lot so the glaze matches under Boca Raton’s afternoon light. She’s certified in both KraftMaid and Wellborn cabinet systems, which means she can spot a hinge adjustment issue before the doors are hung rather than after. Elena commutes from Deerfield Beach, brings Cuban coffee for the crew on Mondays, and once spent four hours on a Saturday reworking a drawer slide because the homeowner’s mother was visiting the next day and “it had to be right.” That job was in Boca Square, and the photo record shows exactly what she adjusted and why.

Darnell J., Service Coordinator

Darnell answers the phone when you call (754) 254-8065 at 10 PM because water’s coming through your ceiling. He’s the live person the Haven Standard requires, not a voicemail tree, and he’s been doing it since 2015. Before that, he managed dispatch for a commercial HVAC company in Fort Lauderdale, so he knows the difference between an emergency and an emergency - and he’ll tell you honestly which one you’ve got. Darnell schedules every crew member, maintains the photo record archive, and personally calls every homeowner 48 hours after substantial completion to confirm the documented record arrived and the warranty paperwork is clear. He lives in Boca Raton’s Sandalfoot Cove neighborhood, coaches youth basketball at Sugar Sand Park, and has memorized the inspection schedule for every municipality we serve. Ask him when Palm Beach County will release your roofing permit, and he’ll know the answer to the day.

Sofia R., Apprentice - General Construction & ADU Specialist

Sofia’s in her third year with us, rotating through every trade before she picks her specialty. Right now she’s deep in ADU framing: the Boca Raton code for accessory dwelling units changed in 2023, and she’s been on four of the six we’ve permitted since then, learning the fire-separation requirements and the parking calculations by doing them. She holds OSHA-10 certification and is working toward her Florida contractor’s license, which Marcus and Elena both did through Rowan’s tuition program. Sofia grew up in West Boca, graduated from Spanish River High, and still points out houses she worked on when driving past with friends. Her detail: she keeps a notebook of every mistake she’s made on a job, with the correction and the date, because “the second time you make it, it’s not a mistake anymore, it’s a habit.” Grant checks that notebook during reviews.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard isn’t a slogan we print on vans. It’s a system with clauses, and every person on this page operates under it. Clause 1 means Marcus measures the roof himself before the price is written. Clause 2 means Elena won’t hang a cabinet until the change order is signed, even if the homeowner is standing there asking for it. Clause 3 means Darnell’s photo record is uploaded before the crew leaves, not the next morning. The 365-Day Done Right Promise applies the same way whether we’re installing a fence in Boca Raton or a roof in Delray Beach, because Haven acquired Rowan for the administrative discipline that keeps projects within a few percent of the agreed number. Across 4,000-plus jobs, that discipline has held. These are the people who hold it here.
